FAQs

1. What’s the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?

Both are real diamonds with identical sparkle and durability. The difference is origin: natural diamonds form in the earth, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment. Lab-grown diamonds typically cost 50–70% less for the same quality.

2. What are the “4 Cs” of a diamond?

Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat are the main factors that determine a diamond’s appearance and value.

Cut affects sparkle

Color measures how white the diamond is

Clarity refers to inclusions

Carat is the weight/size

3. Which of the 4 Cs should I prioritize?

If you want the most brilliance, choose cut first. After that, balance color and clarity based on your preferences and budget.

4. What is the best diamond shape?

There’s no “best” shape—just personal preference.

Round: maximum sparkle

Oval, Marquise, Pear: appear larger for their carat weight

Emerald & Asscher: clean, elegant, step-cut look

Cushion & Radiant: soft, brilliant sparkle

5. How much should I spend on an engagement ring?

There’s no rule. Spend what feels right for your lifestyle and priorities. Quality and meaning matter more than a specific number.

6. What diamond size looks good on the hand?

Finger size, diamond shape, and setting style all influence how big a diamond looks. Ovals, pears, and marquise tend to appear larger.

7. Should I buy a certified diamond?

Yes. A certificate from GIA or IGI verifies the diamond’s quality and protects you as a buyer. It ensures you’re getting exactly what you pay for.

8. What settings are the most secure?

Bezel and six-prong settings offer the most protection. Four-prong solitaires provide a classic look while still keeping the stone secure.

9. What does “eye-clean” clarity mean?

An eye-clean diamond has no visible inclusions when viewed without magnification. Many SI1 and VS2 diamonds are eye-clean and offer great value.

10. What is diamond fluorescence?

Fluorescence is a natural glow under UV light. It usually has no effect on beauty, and in some cases can make a near-colorless diamond look whiter.

11. How do I choose a ring that matches her style?

Think about her everyday jewelry:

Minimal & classic → solitaire

Vintage-inspired → halo or antique-style details

Modern → bezel or east-west settings

Glam → hidden-halo or pavé shanks

12. Can an engagement ring be resized later?

Most rings can be resized, especially solitaires. Eternity bands or rings with stones all around have limited resizing options. Please send us an email at contact@gemnomads.com for resizing service request.

13. How do I care for a diamond engagement ring?

Clean gently with warm water and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals. Have the prongs checked once a year to ensure the diamond stays secure.
14. Are your materials ethically sourced?
We work with suppliers who abide by the Kimberley Process, so we only work with conflict-free materials. We’re fully committed to caring for the environment, maintaining high ethical standards, practicing sustainable sourcing methods, and using recycled gold.
15. What are the materials used in your jewelry?
We use a variety of GIA/IGI natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds and natural gemstones. All of our pieces are also made with solid 14K gold, 18K gold or platinum.
16. Can I purchase your setting without the center stone?

We do not sell our settings without the center stone. Quality is our top priority, and that’s why we present completed pieces. Each engagement ring is set by our expert jewelers, and we keep the entire process in-house to ensure our high quality standards are met.
